I spent some delicious kitchen playground time today but as it was gift making, I’m not sharing yet. Just in case an intended recipient checks in. So instead, I’ll show you a couple of recent forays into bread baking.
bagels
olive bread
Both were tres successful!
the bagels look great 🙂 and yum to the olive bread!
Which do you like better, baked or boiled bagels?
Nates last blog post..Homemade Breakfast Sausage
dani, i want to have a look at a book on breadmaking – can you please remind me which one it is that you’ve mentioned on here before as good?
ta 🙂
Kel that batch of bagels disappeared in record time!
Nate I definitely prefer boiled. The recipe I used for these boils them for a couple of minutes per side in water with a dash of malt extract and then bakes. The result was fantastic.
Karen I haven’t found one I love yet. I’m working my way through my library’s collection. The one I’m using at the moment which is probably the most comprehensive I’ve used so far is ‘Bread’ by Christine Ingram and Jennie Shapter. It’s got some great explanatory pages and massive amounts of recipes for traditional bread baking and bread machines.
I love your blog! And did you know you won my giveaway? Go check out the post and send me your contact info! I’m sorry I didn’t get in touch with you sooner! My life got really crazy this week!
