I love to cook. Seriously love to cook. I’m also serious about good food. Real food.
Feel free to borrow, try or bastardise any of my recipes but if you copy them or publish them elsewhere, credit where credit is due please. All the recipes on this blog are my creation unless otherwise specified.
Another thing to note is that I use a thermomix. I will endeavour to give both the thermomix version and the non-thermomix version of my recipes so anyone can use them. Please note that I am in no way paid by Verwoerk or any subsidiary company to promote the Thermomix.
Amounts used are approximate. Eggs are usually 70g. Temperatures are all in celcius and measurements are always metric. Unless otherwise stated, recipes serve 3 – 4, depending on your serving size.

I’ve never heard of a Thermomix, but I want one now. Maybe soon they will be offered in the US.
I believe they have been offered in the US in the past but I don’t think they are any more. They’re sold like tupperware on a party plan basis. I have seen them listed on ebay though. Amazing machine, it’s made a massive difference to the amount of time I spend in the kitchen per day, I’m down from about 4 hours average to about 2. Big difference to someone who makes everything from scratch.

Thanks Kathy, looks interesting. Looking forward to an update for us mac users!
Just happened across your blog. Looks great.
I Googled Thermomix and there don’t appear to be many sites in Oz with as much info/recipes as yours.
Do you have friends/ others you are in contact with using the Thermomix?
Do you have recipe books for the cooker or is it all from your head?
Thanks for your postings.
Thanks Offal 😀
I found it hard to find information when I first bought mine too. I do know a couple of people who have thermomixes too. I only have the recipe book that came with the cooker. The rest I convert from old favourites or make up as go along. I am currently in the process of writing a thermomix recipe book which aim to publish as an e-book later this year. It will feature thermomix specific recipes that have not appeared on the blog.
Hi Dani,
I just found you via a comment you left on blogher.. and I really like your blog! And then I saw the simple savings link and thought – do I know this person?
whereabouts in Australia are you from?
I’m in Canberra : )
cheers,
k
Hi there!
Thanks for stopping by 😀 I’m glad you like my blog. I’m a Melbourne girl myself.

Hi Dani
We have a Thermomix and have not seen many recipes in English so have decided to try setting up a Yahoo forum. It won’t be public to avoid SPAM but hope to find like-minded people willing to share ideas & recipes.
I see that you plan to publish an ebook so you may not want to share too many recipes but may be able to help with hints and tips for less experienced users?
Cheers
Hi,
I have very similar interests to you and have a young family with 3 children under 5. I make everything from scratch and LOVE cooking!! An outcast among the many friends and family of our who think healthy eating is adding the apple slices with the cheeseburger now offered at McDonalds.
Anyway I am in love with my Thermomix – have had it for 12 months now and I am so happy to have found some more recipe ideas on your site!! It’s great to find someone else who cares about health and the environment with so much passion!! Good on you!!
Decided to add as well that I’m also from Melbourne and am surprised at the growing popularity of the Thermomix. My Mum bought one as did a good friend of mine and everyone seems to have heard of them now!! Another Thermomix cookbook would be a great addition to my collection if you did one!! I have Jude Bleurau and Cindy O’Meiras short Thermomix cookbooks and couldn’t recommend them enough!!
Hi Anonymous and welcome! It’s always nice to discover like minded people. Don’t hold your breath for the cook book. Its coming but it’s turning into a long, slow process!
Enjoy the process!
Howling Duck Ranchs last blog post..Where we are…
Thanks HDR, I do indeed enjoy the process 😀

I’m loved your site and your love to “true food”. Please feel free to contact me for some thermomix recipes exchanging :o)
Kind regards and merry xmas to everyone!!
Hi Carol and welcome. It’s always good to hear from another thermomix lover. If you check my blog roll, there are some other great thermomix sites an forums out there that may be useful to you. 😀
Hi Dani,
Thanks for your lines. Yeah, I’m checking many blogs, although some recipes are too much for me now lol
If you want to try some Spanish recipes with tmx, let me now 😀
I found it took me a good 4 – 6 weeks of solidly working through provided recipes to really get the feel of thermomix cooking. Then it all started to make sense. I’m lways interested in Spanish food : )
Young Dan,
Good for you; found this by accident, like all things ‘net.
Recipes look very interesting. Well def try some, with soothing ale in hand.
Cheers

Hi Dani
I love your website especially as I enjoy experimenting with my beloved thermomix.
Just wondering if you have considered creating a Facebook page for The Kitchen Playground. I have a few links on my FB feed and really enjoy seeing what various TMX bloggers are up to…they tend to direct their link back to their blog page. Great way to get more peeps to see you recipes and happenings.
With kind regards
Karen
